    Ashley Trent, associate editor for Baby & Kids and Giftware News magazines, will once again lead the New Buyer Orientations during The New York International Gift Fair, which runs August 14-19 in New York City. Along with Buyer Services Representative Helen Overly, Ashley will help first-time buyers navigate the Fair, use the directory and make the most of their time at market. Ashley will also answer industry-specific questions.

    LIMA Elects New Executive Committee

    The International Licensing Industry Merchandisers' Association (www.licensing.org) announced that three current board members were elected to new Executive Committee positions and five new members were elected to the Board of Directors. The new directors were elected by a vote of the LIMA membership and their terms will run from July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2013.

    The following board members were elected to new positions on the Executive Committee:

    • Christina Miller, senior vice president, Cartoon Network Enterprises moves from vice chairperson to chairperson.
    • Maura Regan, vice president and general manager, Global Consumer Products, Sesame Workshop becomes vice chairperson
    • Stu Seltzer, partner, Marketing on Demand, LLC becomes executive committee Liaison to the Board of Directors

    Joining the LIMA board are:

    • Peter Boder, founder and CEO, United Labels AG (Germany)
    • Liz Kalodner, executive vice president and general manager, CBS Consumer Products (US)
    • Bettina Koeckler, senior vice president of licensing, EMEA, Chorion (UK)

    Bordegon Appointed The Orb Factory National Sales Manager

    The Orb Factory (www.orbfactory.com), a Canadian designer and manufacturer of toys, appointed Bill Bordegon national sales manager for the United States. Bordegon, a sales and marketing executive and toy veteran, will lead the company's sales and marketing efforts, including developing strategies to further expand the company's distribution across broad and diversified specialty distribution channels and help strengthen its marketing initiatives and product development.

    Most recently, Bordegon was national sales manager of Toysmith where he was credited with helping the company increase its sales and distribution within the last six years, and increasing the company's presence and market share in the specialty toy market. Additionally, during the last three years Bordegon has served on the Board of Directors for the American Specialty Toy Retailing Association as secretary, chairman and is now the current past-chairman.

    LJBryn&Co. Adds Two Companies

    Mally Designs (www.mallybibs.com) and Taravat Kids (www.taravatkids.com) will now be represented in the Midwest by LJBryn&Co, Lara Joy Brynildssen, primary sales rep and owner of LJBryn&Co., says. The rep group sells juvenile products in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio and Wisconsin.
